Last month I asked each of you to think of what it takes to have a successful H.O.G. chapter.  One of my

answers was volunteers and I want to expound upon that answer a little more this month.  One thing your

chapter does not do is “beat you over the head” about volunteering.  We mention it when we need to and hope you will sign up to help make all our events a big success.

We are now halfway through 2009 and already, as a chapter, are looking forward and planning what we will be doing in 2010.

In case you missed it, the Stone Celts H.O.G. Chapter #0972 will be 25 years old next year and the 2010 Illinois State H.O.G. Rally will be held in our back yard!  For both of these events to be a success it is going to take a ton of volunteers.  The rally committee is already in place, but there are sub-committees being formed and

positions will need to be filled.  I like the word committee, but when I write it or say it, I substitute it in my mind with the word “team.”  For any event to be successful, you have to put together a team of people working

toward the same goal.  I hope you have been able to see that with your chapter officers.  Just like any good

manager I, as Director, have tried to surround myself with some pretty sharp people who can do their job a whole heck of lot better than me, while we all work together as a team.

It really is imperative we carry this same sense of teamwork into the upcoming year if both of these major events are going to be successful.  Marty has already done a great job of putting together the main Rally
